Reports show that Spotify has made a deal with Dubset to start hosting DJ mixes and unofficial remixes on Spotify’s platform, a feature that Soundcloud held dear.

Many bedroom producers, as they were dubbed, used Soundcloud to share their music and for the lucky ones, even make a career from the site. It would make sense as to why Spotify, with over 100 million users, would want to start taking even more business away from its competitors.

Unfortunately Soundcloud has caused many issues with musicians and its copyright infringement laws, and even recently, a prominent account was hacked, showcasing Soundcloud’s poor customer service and penetrable system.

As the streaming war continues with Spotify and Apple Music taking the lead, all platforms are going to continue to best the others and offer features the others cannot.
